Grace Deaf Institute is dedicated to the principle that the local church is God's organization for the equipping of the preacher and the layman alike for the work of the ministry.
Here at GDI we are prepared to offer Biblical academic instruction for the man preparing for the pastoral ministry, church-planting ministry, or missionary work; or for the lady who desires to prepare herself for appropriate ministry, or simply further her education.
Our programs offer a convenient schedule of comprehensive Bible courses coupled with opportunities for practical involvement in various church ministries.
It is ideal for men or women preparing for the ministry.
For others who simply want to further their Bible knowledge for the purpose of service in the local church, we offer a less demanding laymen's program.
Grace Deaf Institute is the Doctrines of Grace in theology and practice.
We believe the Bible is able to fully meet the needs of every individual.
We do not apologize for the "faith once delivered to the saints."
If you desire to be trained to better serve the Lord as a layman or to prepare for a full-time ministry, you should consider Grace Deaf Institute.
PURPOSE
Grace Deaf Institute is privileged to provide biblical training under the ministy of Sacramento Bible Church for the Deaf. Grace Deaf Institute was established to train and prepare leaders for church ministry in the deaf community. We believe deaf culture is special and Bible ministry in this cul ture is most successful if teachers and leaders are deaf and communicate with America Sign Language.
PROCESS
Deaf teachers and leaders need to know the Word of God. GDI offers classes to give you a general knowledge of every book in the Bible. Also needed is the skill to study the Bible so that you can learn for yourself what God has said about every major subject - like, Who is God?, Where did we get our Bible?, How can you know you are saved?, What about the future?, and more.
GOAL
Goals of GDI include:
- equipping deaf men with skills necessary to be pastors of deaf churches,
- training deaf men to serve as church board members,
- Enabling deaf men and women to teach Bible classes in deaf churches,
- preparing all students to become "...wise in all things and full of much good. ...able
to help and teach others." (Romans 15:14).
Above all, our primary goal in all these things is to please God.
PEOPLE
Grace Deaf Institute was established by the leaders of a deaf church. Some of these men, with full pastoral training, have been ministering in the deaf community for 20 years. They saw the need to teach their God-given skills to other men so that the deaf community might have more deaf churches during this time and future gen erations, until Jesus comes.
